One more week!

We're getting there...the next few days will be crucial.

I'm really hoping to have a good review on Friday. I know it's the end of the week, but especially if you aren't attending Saturday I think this would be a great opportunity.

Also, don't forget about review Monday. I would hope/expect that you all attend 2 of these three review opportunities.

I contacted Shaun Keane but I'm thinking it'll be tough on short notice to get something together. He has kids to help too! We'll see him Saturday though, for sure.

I also wanted to take the time to thank all of you so much for your congratulations. To those of you who were in my room that morning, it really made my date. This is a pretty huge moment for me as a teacher, and I hope you all take your own pride. I never could win anything without your hard work, commitment to the course, and belief in me as your teacher. I appreciate all you do. And thank you so much!

Onto the business--homework tonight:

I got a lot of work done thus far today. Still slacking on grading, and I'll step that up, but I made up a solid list of topics to review as well as a pretty sweet chart that reviews all of the statistical tests/confidence intervals, talks about what to write, and how to show your work.

See you tomorrow!

April Vacation

First, and most importantly, I sincerely apologize for not being there this week. I hope you do not think I have failed you as we push toward the AP exam, and further, hope you do not think I'm posting from some remote island in the Bahamas. I've unfortunately been bound to my couch since school ended Tuesday, and would have absolutely preferred to be in school with you guys. The crazy thing is, after 1 day of no school, I really start to miss you guys and gals...

As for break. Put in some time studying. The best possible thing you can do is work through the practice exams--use your Barron's book and just keep plugging through practice tests. For a change of scenery, go online and try some of the tests I have linked.

IF AT ANY POINT YOU ARE STUDYING AND HAVE A QUESTION DO NOT HESITATE TO EMAIL ME--ABOUT ANYTHING! It's the least I can do for you after missing 3 days. fred.carofano@gmail.com

As for break homework...you have a practice MC test due Monday. If you click on the "Notes" link (first one), you'll find an electronic version of the test there. I believe it is the second assignment listed. THIS IS MANDATORY. My sub plans called for this to be announced in class, so you really have no excuse.

Other than that, I'll look through the rest of your subwork--as long as you tried your best, you're all set.

Thank you all for your understanding. Again, please email me with anything you need to know. If I need to show some solutions written out, we'll figure it out. It's 2010.

Enjoy the break.

I can't wait to see you all in class again!

David Bock's Here!

Hope you all enjoyed your day today with Bock...it was a really good introduction to matched pairs; we'll continue to work with this idea on Wednesday and a little bit Thursday. Then, we'll get into those last 2 chapters!

Isn't that crazy to think about? We'll be done with all of the stuff on the AP exam by next Friday! Then it's vacation (yes, you will have a review packet), and one week of in-class review.

Homework tonight: Don't forget about your take home test (due Wed.). Otherwise, think of some good question for Bock tomorrow!

Easter Weekend!

Yo yo yo! Hope you all enjoy the long weekend...just think, normally you'd be just starting period F right now!

I hear there's some confusion about what the homework is (which is a little disconcerting, given I've told you about the take home test daily, all week)

TAKE HOME TEST--MC AND FREE RESPONSE PARTS--DUE BY WEDNESDAY. NO LATE PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED. I will start collecting papers on Monday if you're already done.

Remember, this is the first grade of the fourth quarter, so make sure you get this done. You are totally on your own. If you ask me a question, I will defer you to one of your resources (Baron's, textbook). Try your best! "I didn't know how to do this one," is not an excuse to hand it in late. That's the point of a test--to see what you know!

Also, if you want extra credit write something for the school paper! Write about what we having going on in the EHHS school community, whether Stats related or not! But remember, it's gotta be electronic.

Lastly, we'll have David Bock in class Monday and start talking about Matched Pairs! Yes!
