3 Day Weekend!

*I've uploaded the Chapter 18 powerpoint and Chapter 18 Reading Questions under our powerpoints and assignments link.*

Hope you're feeling confident after today's test. I'll have your grades ready on Tuesday for sure. Then it's 100% focus on sampling distributions as we move forward.

This weekend you have a variety of (potential) responsibilities.

1. Please complete the Chapter 18 Guided Reading Questions for Tuesday. These will be collected and graded! Because we will begin discussing these answers in class, NO LATE PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

2. If you were absent yesterday, please complete the probability question regarding two Antibiotic plans, I and II. (Hint: use a tree diagram to model each separate plan!)

3. If you would like to earn 1 point per incorrect question on QUIZ C (we took this last Wednesday) use the answer key (provided in class) to do the following:

In complete sentences, explain WHAT you did incorrectly and WHY this is incorrect. You will receive 1 point (toward your quiz grade) for each acceptable explanation. The more thorough you are, the more likely you earn this point back.

Enjoy your 3 day weekend!

GMen! And Monday's HW...

They did it! The Giants were 7-7 this season--totally average. They then got hot and won 6 straight games to become champions..what's that mean? No matter where we're at now, if we go "all in," work hard for the next few months (up to May 16th), and stay focused, we can have the same kind of success on the AP exam.

Tonight's homework:

Page 382:. 34, 37 AND probability take home quiz #2 (provided in class--don't forget to do the back!

WE WILL HAVE A QUIZ ON CHAPTER 16 WEDNESDAY!

  • Quiz C (I gave you Quiz A/B and the answer keys to study)

  • One AP problem similar to tonight's homework!

Tomorrow we'll stick with chapter 17 in class.

Page Updates!

I've revamped a few things about the site to (hopefully) make it more user friendly.

1. The Resources: Powerpoints, Assignments, and More link has been restructured. Powerpoints are better arranged and old assignments have been removed.

2. The layout of the links on the page have been changed.

3. The probability vocab list is up.

4. There is a new page for Statistics Music so you can download and memorize the stat raps! I once had a girl tell me she played the lyrics in her head during the AP exam and she earned a 3! I also slipped some other (non-statistics) jams in there...

Weekend Homework!

Please complete your take home quiz due Monday. It's the 23 point Expected Value, Variance, and Normal Model problem you grabbed in class. It's also under the classroom resources, toward the bottom.

And go GGGGGGGGGMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNN.

A couple notes:
  • The third interval in #1 is "75 to 90"

  • Number 4 has a typo; it should just say, "Interpret your expected value..."

  • Here are the answers to number 1! Make sure you use these values

P(under 60) = 0.006

P(60 to 75) = 0.494

P(75 to 90) = 0.494

P(over 90) = 0.006
