Letter to Incoming Students...

This is one of the final few posts for the class of 2012! :(

Remember, your letter to incoming students is due Monday, June 11. This letter should be 1 full page (minimum) typed, with 1 inch margins (standard), size 12 font, and double spaced. The FCA's are listed below:

1. Reference at least 4 points/details/facts about the course content (what we study, level of interest, difficulty). Be specific. (8 points)

2. Reference at least 4 points/details/facts/opinions about "AP" (pace, homework, the exam, is it worth it? college credits, etc.) (8 points)

3. Reference at least 4 "other" facts (about teacher, using graphing calculators/Smartboard, book, anything else you think of). (8 points)

This will serve as a 24 point quiz grade--make sure you meet all of the FCA requirements! Proofread!

When you've completed this you can either bring me a hard copy or email me at fred.carofano@gmail.com.

We made it!

The exam has come and gone....and I have to say, I'm incredibly proud of all of you. So many people came the past two days during study halls, lunches, other classes, and after school to prepare themselves for the exam. I told you that all I wanted was your best effort, and it appears you all gave just that. It has been an honor and a privilege enjoying this long, statistically-challenging year and I very much look forward to enjoying the last few months with you all.

Collectively, you are the primary reason I've enjoyed coming to school each and every day (I've only missed 2!), and I thank you. I hope that you enjoyed class to date as much as I have.

We'll tackle some interesting mathematical and statistical ideas over the next month and a half--and I'm open to suggestions. I know many people want to learn about card counting, but feel free to offer any other potential concepts for us to discuss.

And finally, make sure you're as proud of you as I am. I'll take you all in an AP Stat competition against any other school on any given day.

Almost there...

Only a few more days to study until the big test!

This weekend I'd like you to complete the investigative task provided in class. If you have Physics, Music Theory, and/or Bio on Monday feel free to show me your homework Tuesday.

I hope you all enjoy the nice weather and Mother's Day! Try to find some time to squeeze in some studying!

I'll be after school Monday and Tuesday for some last minute preparation before Wednesday.

Remember, we'll report to the AP exam at 11:30 on Wednesday; the test starts at 12:30 and is a 3 hour exam!

Wednesday HW

Tonight please complete the two AP problems provided in class:

This will count as a double homework grade! If you 're stuck, at least do some research and look up the answers!
For those of you with the AP English exam tomorrow you can give this to me after the weekend; for tonight, just worry about studying for English! Good luck!
