AP Stat Students: 2020-21!

Hey everyone! Welcome to one of our main resources for AP Stat--the blog!

• If you ever have a question about class, what's due, etc., always check here first.
• You can also see a variety of helpful links on the right, including our "Distance Learning" links at the top right (hopefully we don't need them during the school year)

Here's what you need to know as a future AP Stat student:

• We had an introductory Zoom meeting about our course in the spring--if you missed it, or if you just want to review what we discussed....

• A graphing calculator is required for AP Stat.
• I recommend any TI-83 or TI-84 family calculator, OR the Casio graphing calculator
• I will use a TI on the board in class, but a Casio is much cheaper and pretty easy to use; I have had students use these each of the past few years.

The best way to prepare for this exam (2 free response) is to complete and score practice free response questions! The more you complete/score, the more prepared you’ll be!

General Exam Prep à Prior to Your Exam…

• Watch the (5 minute) video about how to submit responses to exams
•  Use the AP exam demo to practice entering information and submitting your responses:

• Read the Exam Day Checklist (read carefully, don’t skim!)

Prepare Your Resources!

• Be sure you have a graphing calculator (maybe with extra batteries) or graphing calculator app
• Create your own AP Stat formula sheet!
•  If you have our formula sheet, definitely use that—but remember, with the exam being at home, you can add any notes or additional formulas you like!
•  I strongly recommend creating your own formula sheet prior to test day—this is also a great way to study!
• Organize your notes
• We do have access to our notes, but we also have limited time for our exam; this means it is especially important to organize your notes so that you can quickly refer to any notes/info you may need during testing
• It is still important we prepare for the exam as if we didn’t have notes—if you rely entirely on “looking things up” you will not have enough time to put forth your best work
