Happy Weekend!

This weekend--enjoy it! Spend some time with friends and family, relax, have fun, and go outside! Of course also make sure you get your homework done for all of your other classes--just because our class had an AP exam yesterday doesn't mean you can get lazy across the board!

And remember, if you did not complete your Stat Rap assignment, you will have to do so on your own (homework :( ). Get it done! You must turn it in by TUESDAY.

AP EXAM DAY!

Can you believe it? We started a looooonnggg hard journey back in late August, and we finally made it--our hard work culminated today with our exam! I'm so excited to see all of you tomorrow and talk about your experience!

I meant every word I said to you all today about how proud I am of all of you as individuals, as classes, and as the 2015-16 AP Stat cohort--and you should be equally proud of yourselves! I also will forever appreciate all of you and all of your hard work--I was able to come to work excited and eager to do some Stats every day, through good times and bad--and you were here for a pretty big life event--that wedding! I hope that our class, at some points, was equally helpful in keeping your mind off things in tough times! I'm looking forward to continuing our Stat work over the next few weeks,but without homework,and with some fun/interesting topics!

Thursday = Exam Day!

We are sooooo close....a few more days of the hardest work and most effort you've put in this year....you got this.....stay strong....persevere.....and of course, STUDY! PREPARE YOURSELF TO SUCCEED!

There is formal homework for tonight....but you have a few things to consider...

• The Stat Rap Assignment will be collected and graded--this is due by Thursday, 5/12 (AP Exam Day) or any time before! If you were out Friday you still need to complete this to turn in Thursday! Get it done!

Monday HW....

DUE Tomorrow: Please complete the creating boxplots/histograms and comparing distributions worksheet!

• If you come to the after school review session Monday, we can go over this as part of our review!
• Otherwise, I will provide an answer key to everyone on Tuesday to use to study....
• In the given context, the sample size of "groups of ten" is incorrect! The treatments are randomly assigned, but there are not 10 data values for each group--the "with stimulation" group has a sample size of 15, and the "control" group has a sample size of 13

2.       Choose “Start Learning Now!” (the green tab)

3.       Choose how you will sign in (Facebook, Gmail, or another email)

4.       When you sign in, you will see the home page where you can explore a variety of courses/subjects you can learn!

5.       Click on your name (on the top right), then choose “Profile.”

6.       When you open your profile, you have a few tabs: home, profile, badges, progress, discussion, projects, coaches.

7.       Choose “Coaches.”

8.       Now, “Add a Coach.” Enter the course code for the appropriate course. The class codes are listed below:

9.     Now, explore! Play around with the website and explore all it has to offer!

Hump Day!

Wednesday HW: Tonight, please complete the four (chi-squared) multiple choice provided in class! READ BELOW FOR INSTRUCTIONS A/B THE LAST MC!

• The last question does not provide a "two way/contingency table," so this is NOT a chi-squared test for independence! In other words, this is only one categorical variable, so this would be a chi-squared goodness of fit test.....
• First, determine the expected counts for each eye color, based on the first two sentences...
• Then, use the chi-squared formula to find the chi-squared component for each eye color (there are 3 components)
• Then, use your calculator to add these 3 components and find the chi-squared score!
• OR, if you have a the "chi-squared goodness of fit test" under STAT --> TESTS (newer calcs), you can enter the data values in L1 and your expected values in L2, then use the chi-squared GOF test on  your calc!
• SHOW SOME WORK FOR EACH QUESTION--RECORD THE P-VALUE/CHI-SQUARED SCORE FROM YOUR CALC! IF IT LOOKS LIKE YOU JUST CIRCLED LETTERS (WITH NO WORK) YOU WILL NOT EARN HOMEWORK CREDIT!
