Quiz Tomorrow! (just like the homework from last night)

Tonight, please complete the following in your textbook:

Page 290: 11, 12, 13, 27

There are a couple sampling method we did not get to in class (that may be homework answers):

• Multistage Sampling: any combination of sampling methods we discussed in class (census, SRS, stratified, cluster, systematic) (Ex: Split the lakes into strata, by state. Then, within each state, randomly generate a zip-code, and test all of the lakes in that zip code. This combines a stratified and cluster sample.)
• Voluntary Response Sampling: offering people the opportunity to vote, by their choice, like an online poll (Ex: Have people test the pH of lakes near their homes and have them send you the results)
• Convenience Sampling: sampling those who are convenient (Ex: sampling the lakes closest to your house)

Tomorrow we'll wrap up our notes on sampling strategies and then talk about different types of bias. Hopefully we'll finish all of those notes tomorrow (but it's not likely) so we can do some multiple choice and AP problems soon! Yay!
