If you were out, today we completed a warmup to practice reading histograms; then we took some notes and learned about how to create a histogram given a data set.
Tomorrow we'll pick up where we left off today; we'll learn how to create a histogram using our graphing calculator, then we'll get into creating boxplots. After that it's on to linear regression--lots to do tomorrow, so come ready to work.
Remember, if you complete and turn in your summer assignment on Thursday you will earn extra credit!
I think the best way to do your summer assignment is piece by piece--do some tonight, do some tomorrow night, then finish any last (few) questions in class Thursday and you'll be done!
Here's what I'd look at tonight (based on Tuesday's class):
- #13 (Creating a Histogram)
- #18 (Create a bar graph)
- #33 (Find median given a histogram)
You should be able to complete the following questions on your own--these are not necessarily based on things we'll learn this week (do these tonight too!):
- #1-7, 25-28, 30, 32 (turns out I can't count and skipped 31, woops)
Here's what we'll cover tomorrow (at least this is the plan):
- #14-17 (Finding summary stats on calculator, creating a boxplot)
- #8-12, 24, 29 (Linear Regression)
And here's what we'll address Thursday:
- #19-23
