Monday's HW:
Page 123: 5, 7, 13, 23, 27
- #'s 5 and 7b = back to z-scoers!
- #13 = shifting/rescaling review
- #23, 27 = today's notes and our weekend investigation--the Normal model and the Empirical rule!
Here are the answers to #18 from our weekend homework--take a look back and be sure you know how to do these!
- 18a.) Sketch...values on xaxis (52, 68, 84, 100, 116, 132, 148)
- 18b.) About 95% of IQ's are between 68 and 132 points
- 18c.) Roughly 16% of IQ's are above 116
- 18d.) About 13.5% of IQ's are between 68 and 84
- 18e.) About 2.5% of IQ's are above 132
Today's Class Recap:
- Stamp = dropping test scores slide ("Your Statistics teacher...")
- Ch. 6 Notes: The Empirical (68/95/99.7 rule) notes:
And if you're curious, here's the (tentative) plan for the rest of the unit:
AP Stat (10/2/18)
1.) Stamp = Normal model/% practice (10 min) = next slide in our notes
2.) HW Q's?
3.) More normal percentiles: what if a value isn't exactly 1,2,3 standard deviations away from the mean?
Wednesday (10/3): more Normal percentile practice and finding "cutoff values" given a %
Thursday (10/4): finish chapter 6 notes on the Normal model
- If you are out for the Human Rights field trip you will be responsible to get the notes and make up/learn this content on your own
Tuesday (10/9): Chapter 6 classwork: AP FR and MC
Thursday (10/11): Unit 1 Vocab exam, then ch. 6 review
Friday (10/12): Unit 1 Exam (AP FR and MC)
**This may all get pushed back one day, in which case your Unit 1 Vocab Test would be Friday (10/12) and your Unit 1 AP FR/MC Test woudl be Monday (10/15)
