**If you were absent Friday I need you to make up your test tomorrow during lunch, study hall, or after school!**
Tuesday HW = conditions practice
- Page 428:
- 7b,
- 11 (just conditions),
- 23 (conditions),
- 29ab (this is review, like the elevator question from our weekend hw)
- The answers for 7b, 11, and 23 are not worded well in the back of the book--use the back to check your general ideas are correct, and then tomorrow in class you'll get an answer key to check your context/detail more thoroughly
Today's Class Recap:
- Stamp = Conditions practice (top right slide about gestation periods)
- Ch. 18 Notes:
- What is a sampling distribution?
- Defined a sampling distribution
- Outlined the process for creating a sampling distribution
- Reviewed "sampling variability"
- Looked at an applet (linked below) to explore how a sampling distribution is created, its resulting shape, and why it is expected to have this shape...
- More to come on this tomorrow....
- Here is the link to the applet we explored in class today, as well as an applet you can use to explore a sampling distribution for means!
Here's the plan for the coming days, in case you're curious:
- Wednesday (2/6) = more sampling distributions discussion, another applet, define shape, center, spread of each sampling distribution
- Thursday (2/7) = sampling distributions examples
- Friday (2/8) = finish sampling distribution notes/examples
- Monday (2/11) = chapter 18 vocab quiz, sampling distribution FR and MC
- Tuesday (2/12) = chapter 18 "math" quiz?, chapter 19 intro notes (confidence intervals!)
- Weds. (2/13) to Friday (2/15) = chapter 19 notes/discussion/examples: confidence intervals for proportions!
