2009 (Form B) #1
- This question deals with reading boxplots (a) and then the idea of rescaling. Use your notes to help! This should be a pretty quick question to complete.
- This deals entirely with z-scores and the idea of the Normal model.
- For (a), we have to determine if we think the distribution is Normal; remember, if something is Normal, nearly all of the data should fall within three standard deviations.
- For (b) we are asked to calculate and interpret a z-score. Check your notes for the correct way to interpret z-scores!
- For (c), we have to choose the overall best player (like when we discussed the "best student" example in class). To do so, we need to compare z-scores for each event.
Tomorrow we'll move on to our last new learning for chapter 6. Thursday we'll practice, and then Friday the weekend of testing begins! Woooo!
