Wednesday HW!

Here's tonight's homework--some practice determining if a linear model is appropriate!

1. Please complete the worksheet provided in class (or below).
2. On the back of your worksheet please also complete the following in your textbook:
• Page 190: 15a, 41f
• 41f asks if "this plot shows evidence of the violation of any assumptions behind the regression"--this is just a confusing way to ask if we pass all 3 of the conditions we need to check...
• In other words, "Is a linear model appropriate?" (check all 3 conditions)

Today in class we started with our chapter 8 vocab quiz; then we explored residual plots a little more deeply to try to enhance/deepen our understanding of what a residual plot is actually showing us!

Tomorrow in class it's on to chapter 9--outliers, leverage, and influence! See you there!
