Summertime!

The first post for the new Statistics students...

I hope you're all having a wonderful and exciting summer! And hopefully you've all gotten started on your summer work! Don't forget--not only is this a test grade, but completing this assignment establishes your commitment to taking this AP course!

Feel free to email with any questions that may arise! I've already responded to a couple... (fred.carofano@gmail.com).

I recently took a trip to Vegas to explore some probability. I found this quite interesting...

Check out the information they provide in the game of roulette: elite or "hot" numbers, poor numbers over the past spins, and what has previously come up.

How would this information affect your bets? Or would it affect them at all? If the numbers 9,29,23,22, and 27 have been "elite," should you have a better chance of winning on the next spin if you bet on those?

We'll definitely be getting into all of this during our exploration of probability.

Also, check this video out explaining the famous "Monty Hall Problem:"
