QUIZ TOMORROW...A BIG ONE!

Study, study, study, study, study, study. Then study some more. Then do your other homework. Then sleep. Then study again in the morning. Then go to class. Then study as you're walking to class and just before the bell rings. Then, get an A.

Tomorrow's quiz is on chapters 4 and 5. It also includes the chapter 5 vocab. Here's some info about the quiz...
  • This will be worth significantly more points than any past quiz. This will have a major impact on your grade.
  • There is one open-ended AP problem, where you have to:
    • Compare Boxplots
    • Create a stemplot
    • Answer an additional question comparing the two graphs
  • You will definitely have to create a boxplot, just as you did on today's groupwork
    • You will not be given the entire data set, so you cannot use your graphing calculator to easily create the boxplot
  • All additional questions are from chapters 4,5, including, but not limited to...
    • "Appropriate summary statistics" (based on the shape of a distribution)
    • Reading a boxplot/histogram
    • Using your calculator to calculate mean, standard deviation, 5 number summary
    • Describing a distribution
    • Comparing means of distributions based on shape
    • Understanding numeric summary statistics (mean, median, midrange, range, standard deviation, IQR)
    • How do outliers/extremes affect the values above?
  • Chapter 5 Vocab List (definitions in our notes and on page 88)
    • Spread (from ch 4 quiz)
