TEST MONDAY!

Study, study, study! And if you didn't do the homework assignment that's do Monday (yet), do that too! It's important you start off with a high test grade...our next unit is one of the toughest in the course, so that means the tests and quizzes will be more difficult! Ace this one on Monday!

HW Due Monday: Page 215: 3, 17   and   Page 238: 1, 3, 7

Here's a breakdown of Monday's test:
  • Part 1: Matching Vocab
    • Interpolation
    • Extrapolation
    • Underestimate
    • Overestimate
    • Residual
    • Residual Plot
    • Actual Value
    • Predicted Value
    • Scatterplot
    • Lurking Variable
    • Outlier
    • Influential Point
    • Leverage
    • Residual
    • Correlation
    • Slope
    • Y-Intercept
    • Coefficient of Determination
    • LSRL
    • Explanatory Variable
    • Response Variable
    • Re-Express Data
    • Given a graph and some points (labeled A,B,C,D,E,F), identify the point with...
      • Highest/lowest leverage
      • Highest/lowest residual
      • Highest/lowest x or y value
      • Which are outliers?
    • Describe 2 (of the 4) goals of re-expression
  • Part 2: Short Answer
    • Interpret slope (study your last test!)
    • Interpret y intercept (study your last test!)
    • Interpret coefficient of determination (R^2) (study your last test!)
    • Use a model to predict (like our UConn SAT scores example)
    • Comment on your confidence in a prediction (extrapolation?)
    • Use a re-expressed equation to predict (like #1 in the homework, or like 12-16 from our multiple choice classwork)
And lastly, I put a general overview of Unit 2--a list of what you should know about this unit--under our classroom resources! Check it out! It even has the writing templates!

Enjoy the weekend! Study! Again!
