Weds/Thurs HW

**Please consider your schedule for our April break session! I'd love to have you there!**

  • April Break Session: Wednesday 4/11 from 10:00 - 1:30
  • You must bring your notebook to the session to use; if not, you will be sent home. (I will have textbooks and other resources).
  • During the review session you will have the opportunity to work in groups, to ask questions (of me) and your classmates, and to study (by competing the take home test) in a structured environment....
    • Best case scenario = you finish and turn it in that day!
    • We are coming here to work together to study, to figure things out together, and to prepare for our AP exam--NOT to simply copy or share answers.
    • Anything that resembles cheating, sharing answers, or copying a will result in a 0 on this test! (FYI, it's pretty easy to tell when people copy by looking at their work...)
  • You will be given a (heavily weighted) take home test over April break--this will be a practice exam, covering all content we have learned, to start our preparation for May 17th

Wednesday/Thursday homework:
  • Please complete the 2 Sample T practice ("Ladies First?" context and "Voles" context) provided in class or below.
    • This will be checked on Friday in class (and a key will be provided), but....
    • If you complete this assignment tonight and show me tomorrow  before or after class you'll earn yet another extra credit point for your homework grade!
    • For question #4 of the "Ladies First?" context you are expected to conduct a full 2 sample T test (but you have already checked the conditions above).

Extra Credit Stamp Opportunity: DUE FRIDAY
  • If you complete the tables and questions provided in class Tuesday (about p-values and t*) you can earn additional stamps--I'll check this stuff on Friday while you work in groups!

If you were absent Monday and/or Tuesday you need to get a classmates' notes about the t-distribution--there a bunch of characteristics we need to know!
  • Or, read about this on pages 522-525 (start at "Gosset's t")

Here is the answer key to Monday's HW:
  • I made an error in the t-score on the key I sent via Remind--I had actually entered my "mu-nought" as 4.9 instead of 4.09! The correct t score is shown in red below! (Thanks Kewan and Hannah)

And here is the answer key to last night's homework about the t-distribution:
