Monday!

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I couldn't be there today--but I am confident that you'll use this opportunity to work together and review to continue to prepare for our AP exam!

Here is some important info for you....

1.) Monday HW:

  • Tonight please SCORE (and take notes) the two free response you completed today in class. This will be checked as homework tomorrow.
  • You will not earn full (hw) credit if you scoring only includes, "E's, P's, and I's." You must show some notes about your scores or correct your responses--take some time to seriously read these rubrics and use this as an opportunity to study!
    • We have seen parts of these questions before, but I wanted to revisit these now that we're closer to the exam and more comfortable with Stats--these are great examples of the types of comparing boxplots questions that have been on the most recent free response
  • Here are the links to the scoring rubrics:

2.) Optional Take Home Test Due Tomorrow!
  • You have one more day to get that (optional) take home test done!
  • The "Inferences for Means" test grades are in--and they absolutely SHOULD have been better. The majority of the content on the test was in our "All Things T" review packet, which had the answers posted--there were too many scores that suggest to me that students did not study. Use this as a learning experience, and be aware that if you do not prepare for the AP exam more than you did for this test your AP exam score will be lower than you saw on this test.
  • For now, put in the work to ace the optional test.
  • Tomorrow is the last day any of these (optional) take home tests will be accepted.
3.) Chi Squared Quiz Moved to Weds.
  • Tomorrow we will have a stamp problem that pushes us to think about the expected counts for chi squared (unless it was accidentally given to you today)--we'll discuss these, then move on to chapter 27.
  • Here are the multiple choice (weekend homework) answers so you can check and use these to study...
    • 30.) In order to plan.... E
    • 11.) The following two-way table....B
    • 14.) A survey of 57 students....D
    • 4.) At a certain high school....B
    • 5.) Which of the following is not true...E
    • 13.) An investigator was studying...E
    • 19.) A geneticist hypothesizes that half...B
    • The spinner in a board game...B
    • A pet food manufacturer...B
    • Statisticians wanted to investigate...E
And here's the plan for the rest of the week:
  • Monday: Practice AP Free Response--Comparing Distributions
  • Tuesday: Expected Counts stamp, start chapter 27 notes
  • Wednesday: Chi-Squared Quiz, continue chapter 27 notes
  • Thursday: Review stamp, finish chapter 27 notes
  • *Friday: Multiple Choice Practice Test (*I will be absent :( )
  • *Monday: More AP Free Response (*I will be absent.)
    • I will assign free response related to experiments, data collection, and bias, as these topics overlap with some of the concepts in AP Psych, and many students will be taking that exam on this day
  • Tuesday - AP Exam: Each day we will review a different topic in class to get ready for our exam!
